“The expert in anything was once a beginner.” - Helen Hayes

Hey man,

Before I get into the meat of todays email, I need your help.

We’re going to be launching in person dad-daughter events very soon and we’re trying to nail down the first few locations.

Please do me a quick favor and enter your city/state here. It will help us provide you with the best experience possible.

Opportunity Corner

Let’s look at 5 things you can flip on the side to make an extra $1,000 per month. The main takeaway from this section is that with these, you are not trading your time for money. You’re trading your money for more money.

  1. My favorite thing to flip

  2. Furniture - I know a guy that make six figures buying and selling couches on fb marketplace.

  3. Electronics - If you can buy a laptop for 500 and sell it for 700, you only need to flip 5 per month to hit your goal.

  4. Utility trailers - many people dont realize that you can easily find a heavy duty utility/equipment trailer, buy it for 2500 and sell it for 3500. You only need to do this one time per month to hit the goal.

  5. Bikes - you guys know I am into mountain biking. Before I got into it, I had no idea how expensive they could be. You can flip 1 bike per month and make more than 1k

Back to the quote.

Odds are, if you do anything 100 times you’ll probably become decent at that thing.

The problem is, to get to the 100th time, you have to get past the 1st time.

It seems like this is always the biggest hurdle.

And for good reason.

No one wants to do something they suck at.

Especially us dads.

We want our daughter to think we’re perfect, right?

Wrong.

We need to let them see us fail.

They need to see the ups and the downs.

They need us to show them how to handle failure with humility.

They need to see you get back on your feet and overcome adversity.

Let them see what really goes on.

Teach them that life isn’t always sunshine and rainbows and that it’s the storms that build the character.

The view from the top of the mountain looks better when you know what the valley looks like.

What type of parent are you?

Let me know what you think.

Remember, the goal is constant improvement. Lets get 1% better every day.

Talk to you tomorrow,

Dom
